BON Hotels appointed Charl van Wyk as Group Operations Director on 9 February 2015. Charl believes nothing is as consistent as change and a successful career spanning some 22 years bares testament to his hard work and commitment to the industry.
After matriculating from Northwood Boys College and completing his national service, Charl began his hospitality journey as a switchboard operator. He moved on to do in-service training with the Protea Hotel Institute of Professional Development, achieving a national certificate in Hotel Management. Charl progressed through the ranks, holding a number of positions at various hotels before taking on his first general management position in 2000. Over the past 14 years he has managed seven hotels countrywide under the Protea portfolio, including successful upgrades, entire refurbishments, openings and extensions.
Charl brings a certain charm to his work, coupled with a no-nonsense attitude that brings out the very best in his staff. BON Hotels look forward to good things from him.
